Gary S. Cuddeback, Ph.D

Gary S. Cuddeback, Ph.D., is a Professor and Interim Dean at the School of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Cuddeback’s research is focused on improving the lives of individuals with mental illnesses, especially those who are involved with the justice system. He is a mental health services researcher and intervention researcher who studies the development and/or adaptation of evidence-based practices for individuals with mental illnesses. He has authored numerous scholarly papers and has conducted research in a variety of criminal justice and community-based settings, including mental health courts, jails, prisons, and probation and parole, as well as community mental health agencies.
